ABOUT

I am a knit designer specialising in creating knit for interior furnishings. I often source my visual research through creative photography and I develop my imagery using Photoshop. I respond to my concept by picking out shapes and motifs in my photographs, which I translate into knit.

I have been investigating how materials can be used differently to their original intensions. Galvanised steel conduit is used to protect electrical wiring in buildings, but I have used it to create furniture. Weaving, a traditional interior textiles technique has inspired the structure and playfulness throughout my work. Using knit to cover furnishings allows me to experiment with different three-dimensional techniques.

I am currently in my third year at Manchester Metropolitan University studying textiles in practice.
